Executive Compensation versus Shareholder Dividends

One of the most disconcerting things for any shareholder is learning of excessive executive compensation in the company, especially when that company is not performing well financially and/or is refraining from making corresponding dividends to its corporate shareholders. In those particular circumstances, shareholders might well consider the pursuit of a minority shareholder derivative action to address this imbalance in the executive's financial approach, such that there is a correction to this inequitable treatment to the company's equity holders (who aren't reapping the non-dividend remuneration that the company is dispersing).

At Neufeld Legal P.C., we undertake significant and complex shareholder disputes, amongst shareholders or with the company, its directors and/or officers, creditors or other third parties. Contact us at 403-400-4092 [Alberta], 905-616-8864 [Ontario] or Chris@NeufeldLegal.com.
